My heart breaks on so many levels with what is happening in our nation’s Capitol. Protests have their place. This is not a protest but a riot. To get to the point where there is complete disregard to the visible and invisible boundaries that have been established for centuries, built on God and respect for authority in our nation, is disturbing and sad.
As I’ve watched, I hear that nations are watching, yet you know who is watching as well?
Our children.
Our children are watching this.
What have they witnessed? Respected, sacred ground being taken over by people who have lost all respect and regard for authority. They are witnessing pride, power, and lies ruling hearts. They are seeing a President who refuses to stand up for what is true, right, honorable, and just. Our children are, once again, witnessing unprecedented circumstances.

May we choose to come together as Americans, human beings, and children of God; not for ourselves, but for our children.
God says in His word, a nation divided will fall. Let’s not give a divided nation to our children. May we commit today to say and do everything within our abilities to be part of the healing that needs to take place in our nation.
We need stop following people and get back to following God’s truth which teaches us - and our children - to treat one another with honor, integrity, respect, and to love one another as He loved us, with a selfless love.
